Understanding Your Care

How do I start working with Valsa HemeOnc Partners?

Getting started is simple:
1. Schedule a free 30-minute consultation.
2. Share your story and, if you’d like, your key medical records.
3. Together, we decide on a plan for education, care coordination, and ongoing navigation that fits your needs.

What is an oncology navigator and are you replacing my oncologist?

We help you prepare better questions, understand your options, and feel more confident in your visits. Your oncologist remains the one who diagnoses and treats your cancer. Valsa HemeOnc Partners does not replace your oncological medical team; we complement your care through advocacy and education.

How do you support second opinions and help me understand test results?

We help you organize your records, understand what’s being recommended, and prepare questions so you can decide what feels right for you. Whether explaining pathology reports or prepping you for a consultation with a new specialist, our goal is to help you decide what feels right for you.

What cancers do you work with?

We support adults facing most solid tumors and complex blood disorders. If you are unsure whether your diagnosis is a fit, you are welcome to schedule a free consultation so we can talk through your situation and next steps.

Who is not a good fit for your services?

We are not an emergency service and we do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. If you are having new or worsening symptoms, or think you may be having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. We are a good fit for people who want help understanding their care, not for urgent medical problems.

Support for You & Your Family

How do you help caregivers?

We provide education, guidance, and support to help caregivers better understand the cancer journey and care for their loved ones. We can meet with caregivers alone or together with the patient, depending on what feels safest and most helpful.

Who can join virtual appointments?

We encourage spouses, adult children, caregivers, and loved ones to participate in our secure telehealth visits. Cancer affects the entire family, and education often benefits everyone involved.

How do you help people prepare for oncology visits?

We help you organize your concerns and prepare meaningful questions, so you can make the most of your time with your medical team. After the visit, we can help you process and better understand the information discussed.

Still Have Questions?

Whether you are curious about specific cancer types or need help navigating clinical paperwork, please know that no question is too small when it comes to your care.

A free 30-minute consultation can help you:

Make sense of a new or changing diagnosis
Prepare for an upcoming oncology appointment
Decide if ongoing navigation support is right for you
